Ball, 28 years old, committed suicide here early yesterday morning by shooting himself through the head. In his attempt at self- destruction he fired four shots. Ball was formerly travelling pas- senger agent for the Canadian Pacific at St. Paul, Minnesota. Despondency is believed to be the cause of his rash act. Health Bylaw Violated. There was only one case this morning in the police court be- fore Magistrate Carss, that of a violation of the health bylaw, the complaint being laid by Sanitary Inspector McFarlane. Four names were mentioned in the charge’ sheet. The Magistrate imposed a fine of $5 and costs, to be borne equally by the four offending parties. Prince Rupert Pioneer ‘Returns. Alex.
