The Everly Broth- ers started there, later broke into TV and to date have five million sellers to their credit in: the record business. Their latest album “The Everly Bro- thers,” Cadence CLP 3025, con- tains the gold platters “Bye Bye Love,” “Wake Up Little Susle,” “All I. Have To Do Is Dream,” “Bird Dog,” and “Problems,” as well as seven of their popular hits, “POPULAR The Kingston Trio with their latest LP. prove that folk songs presented with spirit and im- agination can win a vast aud- ience. This. latest album, “The Kingston Trio At Large” Cap- {tol T 1199, shows the trio at home with a wide range of ma- terial from many -countries. Cuts I particularly. enjoyed were the “M. T. A.” “I Bawled.” “Good News,” “Getaway John,” and “Early Morning.” The “M. T. A.” is a clever modern parody on a real old timer of a railroad tune, the title of which has completely slipped my mind. The new words have a poor little man from Boston riding around in the subway, from-which he never returns. The trio, even when singing old ballads, seem to. find-a new unique approach and this freshness, I.think, has won them their popularity. ‘A very pleasant album called “Two Time Winners” by Andy Williams, on Cadence 3026, will be a very welcome addition to any collector who likes to hear the old tunes done up in a “Billy Vaughn” style’ and sung by a fine male voice. Andy Williams recently made “The Hawaiian Wedding Song” a hit parader and he includes it on this album along with oldies such as “Sail Along Silv’ry Moon,” “Twilight Time,” “Blueberry Hill,” “My Happiness,” “Near You,” and others. INSTRUMENTAL An interesting album, “The Palm Springs Suite,” was releas- ed receptly on Capitol T 1157. The suite is comprised of twelve short pieces with titles such as . | Desert’ Dawn,”.. “The ‘Tallyho,” | “Palm Canyon Drive”. “Golf A La Cart” and."Poolside Patter.” :‘The album came to my’ atten- tion via radio when I heard the delightful “Golf A La Cart.” With the help of the title, the music and your imagination you can hear the wham! of the drive. visualize the search for the ball, HOW CHRISTIAN SCIENCE HEALS “A”’ New Purpose Gained—A Home Strengthened.”’ KTKN--aizu kc.
