Colville, Wash., Feb. 24 Alex. ander Daylight, one of the most noted Indians on the Colville reservation, is dead at the home of his grandnephew, Francis Camile, seven miles from Kettle Falls, According to the govern- ment’s rolls Daylight was 114 years old at his death, but his own statements verified by his associates, are thal his age was 123 years. He used to tell of meeting and talking with David Thompson, the distinguished Knglish geog- rapher who visited Kettle Falls, July 23, 1811. Daylight, how- ever, disputed the claim of Thompson as being the discov- erer of the falls and said that many moous before that date an- other white man traversed this region.
