Married in 1947 in Vancouver, - the couple came here in 1949 from Trail, where Mr. Laurie was the chief of police. Since then they have literally “jumped into civic activity with both feet,” as Mrs. Laurie said, and have help- ed organize new clubs in the city. Born in Winnipeg, Mrs. Laurie started the Credit Bureau in 1950 in partnership with the late P. H. Linzey. In connection with that. she helped organize the Women's Breakfast Club which flourished for five years. After selling the Credit Bureau business in 1955, Mrs. Laurie was manager of the Civic Centre for [two years, and sinee then has ‘heen a scerctary at the Prince Air Force in the Second World War. He was also awarded the Medal of the British Empire. ‘Mr, Laurie was one of the o1 ganizers of the Air Cadets Squadron 559 11 years ago, and served as president of the spon- soring committee. An ardent curler, he helped to organize the Curling Club in 1950. A member of the Shrine Club, Mr. Laurie has been president of the Prince Rupert and District Football As- sociation and is a director of the newly - formed Kiwanis Ctub. He was president of the Red Cross Society for three years, and was chairman of the blood donor clinic for four years. He was also Civil Defence officer EASTER BUNNIES who gave o Tiny Tots party yesterduy were Vicki Manning, Corrie Anhorn, Janet Hawryluk and Leigh Manning.
