says a man who has been teach-

In fact, this respect is often
the source of other drivers’ frus-
trations, said Joseph. Intorre in
an interview at St. George Wil-
liams University where he gave
a two-week course in driver ed-
ucation to high schoo] teachers.

“Women tend to be over cau-
tious and hesitate when they
shouldn't, causing other drivers
to get into accidents,” said Mr.
Intorre, who is with the Insti-
tute of Public Safety at Pennsyl-
vania State University.

Although they had a better at-
titude toward driving than men,
attitude without knowledge was
not enough.
