Wiremen break deadlock in extra frame ! Electricians scored one run in an extra inning of a six inning game against Donaldson Logging to win 4-3 in Little League action at Algoma Park Tuesday night. The game was tense while Electricians’ Bob Donaldson and Donaldson Logging’s Peterson had a pitching duel. Donaldson allowed only two hits and struck out 13 batters for the winners, and Peterson gave up only four hits and never more than one in any inning for the losers, but six errors by his team mates proved costly. Since Little League regulations will not permit a player to pitch more than six innings in one week, the extra inning was pit- ched by Abercrembie for the wiremen, and Robin Parks for ithe loggers. Big hitter for the night was Denaldson with three for four. On the losing team Peterson and Green both hit one for three. The Donaldson logging team was formerly known as the fus- ijiers. Wahl’s Carol Kellerman al-, lowed four hits while high school’s Joylea Rossi allowed five. : High school’s catcher Carol McKay was the only player to get an extra base hit in the game coming up with a double: in the third inning. High school held a slim 3-2 margin after four complete in- nings, but boaters got through to Rossi for two hits, three walks and a student error in the top of the fifth to plate four runs and take a 6-3 lead. The victors added three more in the sixth when high school’s Battling Elks trounce Gyros Almost everyone hit, and al- most everyone scored at least one run, in a wide open Pony League baseball game at Roose- velt Park last night when Elks trounced Gyros 19-10. Both Elk’s pitcher Rick New- som and Gyro’s Mintenko just couldn’t hold their batters down. Possibly the highest scoring inn- ing of the Pony League season was in the bottom of the fourth when every Elk player but one scored a run. Gyro players Campbell and ; Desautels tallied three runs, apiece to cancel out three runs: each by Elk’s Specht and Dela- ! hunt. The outfielders weren’t too} busy in the game. Between the i two teams there were some five! outfield flies caught. Most of: the work was distributed among | infielders on both teams, and ! Gyros made 13 errors in com- parison to EIk’s five.
