was little, if any, delay in start-
ing after the passengers were
aboard and it is safe to say that

kick to register in regard to the
entire day's outing.

The weather during most of
the day was ideal, with aebright
sun and a gentle breeze fanning
the dancing waters. Most of the
passengers remained on deck to
enjoy the beautiful scenery and
to inhale the bracing air. The

first stop was at Oceanic cannery
about noon, the next Balmoral,
then Claxton and the final call at
Carlyle. Owing to low tide, the
steamer did not stop at Essing-
ton, but the excursionists were
given the privilege of seeing it at
range.

Balmoral and Claxton can-

for making the tins and the “iron

were most interesting. The im-
mense quantities of tins already
made for the coming season gave

everyone comfortable and happy.

The Eagles are to be congratu-
gratulated for conducting such a
well managed and orderly ex-
cursion and those who enjoyed
the trip are indebted to them for
providing the opportunity.

Prince Rupert was reached on
the return trip before 9 o'clock,
everyone satistied with the day's
outing.

tained life in parts of the human
tissues after the organism has
died, as in the snake's tail, which
the school boy knows does not
die until after the sun has set,
was the theme discussed at the
closing session of the Congress
of American physicians and sur-
geons,

authorities, life in cells taken
from a ‘iving animal organism
has been sustaimed for more than
four years after the animal from
which they were taken ceased to
