Ditmars, district deputy, following which a joint banquet wil! take place at the Inn. MURDERER ACQUITTED Jury Found That Crime Was Committed in Self Defence. Kamloops, B. €., May 17. James Munro Traff was tried to- day on the charge of murdering Julius Landreau, at Tete Jaune Jache on November 14. The evi- dence showed that deceased was a bad mah of Herculean build, who had treated others with vio- lence and Traff declared that he acted in self-defence when in fear of grievous bodily harm. A verdict of not guilty was re- turned. Applause in court was quickly suppressed. Chief Jus- tice Hunter approved the ver- dict. mRS.
