Favorable reports continue to come from the new Tahtsa placer field. A number of valley men who took part in the stampede have returned in the last few days, and all declare that the dis- trict promises well. Many had gold to show as the result of sur face panning. Three hundred mén are reported to be in the dis- trict, which appears to be of con- siderable extent, Late arrivals state that a large number of claims have been staked, mainly on three creeks. On Sibola Creek, where the first discovery was made, the original locators are now en- gaged in sinking to bedrock, and are making good progress, with full confidence in the existence of a good paystreak. A majority of those who have come out will lose no time in getting back with tools and supplies for working their claims and it is probable that be- fore the snow flies the miners will have a definite knowledge of the actual value of the gold field. —Omineca Miner.
