Another solidly packed house greeted the Pollards last evening at the Westholme, when the audi- ence was highly pleased with a creditable production of ‘The Belle of New York.” The open- ing number, “When a Man Is 24,” Nellie McNamara, went with a swing and had a most ate background in the of a bachelor apartment after an anti-nuptial supper. Little Miss Queenie Williams scored another triumph as Fifi, as dainty a plece by appropri- confusion of Dresden china as one ever sees on the stage In her first number, ‘Teach Me How to Kiss,” her voice as well as her acting was wonderfully good. Pattie Hill as the Salvation Army lass, “The Belle of New York,” did ex- cellent work and looked very fetching as she swung her tam- bourine, The gem of the per- formance was undoubtedly the duet, “When We Are Married,” by Nellie MeNamara and Queenie Williams. They were recalled agair and again and were the recipients of some pretty floral tributes. Teddy McNamara was in his usual form, while Charley Bennett and Eva Pollard made the most of their rather small parts: Miss Phyllis Philipson gave an operatic selection, which could be aptly described as a most pleasing exhibition of vocal gymnastics. The flexibility of her voice was unusually good and her register extremely well de- upper veloped. The choruses were well baianced and the bailet quite as spectacular as on the previous evenings. Altogether the com- pany maintained the pleasing im- pression already made upon Prince unees theatre patrons. POPULAR crn IZEN GETS PROMOTION). F. W.
