LEAD CLAIMS BONDED
BY VANCOUVER MEN

Peerless Group of Seven Claims
on O. K. Mountain Is
Taken Over.

 

Vancouver, Sept. 29. — After
spending several months in the
Hazelton district, Captain WU. M.
St. Gyr has returned to Van-
couver, having secured a bond
and lease on the Peerless group

of seven claims, which are lo-
cated on O, K. Mountain, eighteen
miles east of Kitselas. He

brought down a large quantity of
ore specimens from the prop-
erty.

tance it is said to average thirty-
two feet in width, and assays have
been taken across seventeen feet,

Under the terms of the bond,
which is for $30,000, continuous
work must be done, and Captain

St. Cyr expects to have a crew of

ing all winter.. The property is
at present reached by trail, but a
wagon road has been promised by
the government. The lead lies
above a very steep bluff, and a
depth of 900 feet can be obtained
by running a short crosscut tun-
nel, which will be the first de-
velopment work undertaken.
Hospital Dance.

The annual dance given by the
Ladies’ Auxiliary in aid of the
hospital will be held at Si. An-
drew's Society Hall (Kaien Island
gym) on Friday evening, Oct. 3rd.
Dancing will start at 9 o'clock
with music by the Westholme or-
chestra. Gentlemen's tickets $2
