ster had a long letter in Sat-
urday’s trying to de-
fend his action in oppos-
ing the application of F. L.
Wilson for foreshore rights.
The alderman has probably
been thinking hard all week
trying to find excuse
for his extraordinary con-
duct in council last Monday
night.

Alderman  Bullock-Webster
says that the information
which was given was given
grudgingly he making a
statement which he knows to
be untrue, but this the
kind of thing of which the
alderman has been guilty all
year. At practically every
session of the council he
has insinuated trickery, eva-
sion or crookedness of some
kind on the part of the ad-
ministration, and those of
his friends who had at least
hoped to find in him the
English gentleman are dis-
appointed to find that he
pursues the tacties of a cad,

F. Landes, Who Returned from
Whitehorse on Saturday, Is
Getting Outfit Ready.

F. Landes, who left for the
north some time ago, attracted
by the gold strike at Chisana, re-

turned to the city Saturday.
He went only far as White-
hoorse, being advised to proceed
no farther until later in the sea-
son. While at Whitehorse there
was a strike in that vieinity and
Mr. Landes and Everard Kissick
staked four claims. It is Mr.
Landes’ intention to return north
next Monday if he can get cer-
tain matters of business arranged
by that time. He is getting to-
gether the necessary outfit to
take to the diggings and expects
to leave Whitehorse for Chisana
about December ist.
