The tenders for New Hazelton’s post office building have all been sent to Ottawa and the various contractors expect to hear about the 25th of July as to who was the fortunate bidder. Arrangements have been made for holding the annual general picnic in the recreation park at the hospital on Friday, July 24th. More definite announcements will be made later. In many parts of the Province people have been endeavoring to solve the unemployed problem. The New Hazelton district is par- ticularly fortunate in this respect as the unemployed are almost nil. The respberry crop is now being gathered in by the people of the town. The crop this year is heavy and the rains of last week helped it wonderfully.
