Two Trains Dy From Prince Rupert. It is an interesting suggestion made by, F. G. Dawson in re gard to the train service out of this city. He says there should be two trains a day each way, one carrying local passengers and the other through passengers and fresh fish. As he says, if there were a proper service with plenty of cars, there would be a lot more fish marketed here than there is at present. Tourist trade is steadily increasing on this route and local business would in- crease if given proj service. Add to that the steadily increas i ing settlements 1 the terior and it is easy to see there will be a good deal of business to handle. Last vear the trains were so heavy that it was difficult to haul them. Next year there should be a great de more business, Prince Rupert people should set 1 that the government-owned service with this city Nothing should be allowed to stand in the| out to dematr should Lit smied e. way. Assembling Wharf For Lumber. The need of an assembling wharf for lumber is apparent to everyone here. Arrangements have been made for such a wharf at Victoria, and at Vancouver there is a similar institution. Here} at Prince Rupe rt if is needed very badiv and we know that the officials of the traffic department of the Canadian National are now needed is action. There is plenty of foreshore and the construction of such a dock would not be difficult. It,is to be hoped that in the very near future we shall} hear from the railway officials in regard to this. We need it badly. } Railway Vital interested in All that és ’ To This Port. The Canadian National Railway is vital to this port. It is} the artery that carries -the lifeblood. Without it we do not exist. | Because of this it is very necessary that we keep in close touch| with the activities of the railway and that we try to be on good t rms with and act in a helpful manner toward the big institution which we own. Prince Rupert can do a great and make it a success financially. there must be Prince Rupert all its energy deal to build up the railway} In order to do that, however, | a spirit of co-operation. ._The railway must help} and not, as at present seems to be the case, devole| to serving the bigger port to the We are not jealous of Vancouver.
