The stocks of sugar in the various stores of the city are re- ported to be almost depleted, in fact some of the stores have not an ounce in stock. The whole- sale situation is just as bad and for the past few months none has been kept in the local warehouses three but is delivered right from the railroad sheds to the stores with- out ever houses.
