Alderman Kirkpatrick referred me to School Law and I find on closer examination that she doesn’t ap- pear to know much about it her- elf, It plainly says in the School ct that all expenditure, ordinary or extraordinary, shall be sub- mitted to the council. The build- ing of a new school comes under extraordinary expenditure and such.expenditure should be segre- gated into the different classes, building, furnishings, ete., and submitted to the council for each class to be considered and the whole bylaw approved or disap- proved. I would like to know how this has been done when the ex- penditure has never been classi- fied. In view of the fact that the School Board failed ’» Classify the expenditure, -it will be forced to come back to the council. “That man Patmore has been mixing his drinks’ and his head feels like the morning after the night before, therefore he has nental indigestion. He accused me of shooting off my head. All ‘ight, I now intend to fight with my neck and feet. This school is going to cost a quarter of a million dollars. In view of the fact that the bylaw has been put through in this manner, I declare it illegal. The School Board should give us the straight goods and it hasn’t done this.” Alderman Casey then asked Alderman Kirkpatrick if these al- legations of irregularity by Ald. Perry were correct. Alderman Kirkpatrick declined to answer, stating that all questions Alder- man Perry had to ask would he courteously answered by the School Board. Ald. Perry stated {hat she should be prepared to onswer the questions now.
