Some of the buyers were not present at the usual time of opening so the others waited until all had ar- rived before completing the sales. There was no auctioneer and all} the lots were put up at the saine| time, each buyer keeping a com- | plete record of all bids on all four} of the lots. Bidding commenced easy if 12c for first grade and 7e for seconds and the lots were even- tually sold as follows:—Mable A., 25,000 Ibs., 14c and 7c; Anna J., 26,000 Ibs., 13.8¢ and 7e; North, 8,000, and Fortuna, 18,000, at {3.6c and 7e. Evolution, 13,000 Ibs., at 13.4c and 7c. The fish was finally sold after all the buy- said that they were satisfied. The second class fish are the large or whale halibut, the small or chicken halibut, and the grey halibut which do not look as nice as the others.
