NEW YORK, Feb, 13.—About
ten million dollars’ worth of raw
furs from all parts of the world
have been, placed on show here
preliminary to being sold at the
fifth annua! midwinter auction in
the Masonic Hall. The sale, which
ommences Monday next, con-
tains more than two and a half
million separate pelts, including
about 80 distinct varieties.

The trawlerThiepval arrived in
port last night in the course of her
duties in the fisheries protection
service. She is a fine craft, ap-
parently well suited for the work
and carrying a crew of 27 officers
and men. She is a sister ship of
the Givenchy and Armentieres
both of which are now‘on this
coast, One of the three will be
stationed at this port all the time.

The Armentienes is now in dock
at Esquimalt and it is understood
that when -she eomes out the
Thiepval will take her place and
she will come to Digby Island.
Which will remain here perman-
ently is not known.

The. mayor has received a wire
from Chief Engineer Heaman of
the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway
Co. at Winnipeg, that the plans
for the Section 2 bridge are now
on the way to this city by mail.
This follows a wire the mayor
sent to Winnipeg on Monday in-
quiring about them-
