MOTHER GOOSE HAS RECEPTION The Annunciation School Gives Interesting Cantata in Aid of Library Fund. At the Annunciation School last night the parents and _ close friends of the pupils filled the assembly room upstairs to wit- a Mother Goose reception ness performed by the pupils. The young people did their several parts wonderfully well. There were so many of them that it is difficult to single out any for special praise but the singing and speaking throughout was of a distinetly high character and re- flects the earnest pains that must have been taken in preparation. In the opening scene the child- ren have been invited by their teacher, Miss Bright, to accom- pany her on a visit to Mother Goose Island. The cantata opens where they are gathered antici- pating the trip. There is an open- ing chorus, and four songs all well sung and with the parts nicely acted. The actual visit to Mother Goose Island brings forth all sorts of curious characters. Beatrice Meagher is Mother an here is a Welsh dance in whic! Goose Misses Riel, Burritt, Bowness, teilly and Martin take part. It as excellently done. Perhaps the Mammy’s Lullaby Chomis was the best bit of work of the even- ing.
