SERVICE PROPOSED

 

Major K. E. Clayton-Kennedy,
one of the world’s most celebrated
aerial men who did valuable work
in connection with aerial activi-
ties for the British War Office
during the war, is expected in
Prince Rupert about March 1 to
look into the question of inaugu-
rating a transcontinental aerial

trunk route with Prince Rupert
as the Pacific terminus. In a
personal letter written to J. F.

McGuire by Major Clayton Ken-
nedy this word has been brought
to the city.

“A number of British govern-
ment officials who managed the
manufacture and operation of
acroplanes in England during: the
war have come to Canada,” said
Mr. McGuire to a News repre-
sentative yesterday afternoon
They have made Montreal their
headquafters for the purpose of
studying the question of aerial
transportation in this country.
They are planning the establish-
ing of several aerial routes in
Canada including two transcon-
tinental lines. For publicity they
have established a monthly maga-

zine called “The Aer plane in
Canada” which made its initial
appearance in December last.

This periodical is affiliated with

a similar organ which has been
published in England for some
time.

of this venture in Canada is K. £.
Clayton-Kennedy who is planning
-the routes’ and establishing olf
services. Already, under the joint
auspices of the Dominion Govern-
ment and these officials a service
between Montreal and Newfound
land was put in operation a few
weeks ago-

Rupert in about a fortnight to}
