It is certain, however, that in nine cases out of tea the disease reaches an acute form as ithe result of neglecting an ordinary cold. Every reader should take this statement to heart, es- pecially in view of medical opinions which declare, “If colds are treated promptly we will hear far less about Grippe or In- nuenza.” The treatment for coids in the head is simple and may be handled at home. Grip Fix, which may be secured at any druggists affords a means whereby relief will be given in a night and even an_ attack of grippe overcome in 48 hours. The prepa- ration is one which will be approved by any physician as it provides, in capsule orm, just the drugs he would prescribe. full list of these is printed on each box The action of Grip Fix is to keep the system open, to quickly relieve the clogged- up condition of the head, reduce the feverish condition and allay the muscular soreness usually present. There is noth- ing in it which will lead to after effects; in fact, it tones up the entire system. Have Grip Fix always in_ the house. It is offered at 35 cents per box, and is on sale at all craceeess. The catch for the month is comsidered exceptionally good ' this time of the year. | ‘The prospects for the coming month are excellent. At the present the most of the halibut boats are out and some big calches ought to be landed here very soon. It is this month that the fishing season really com- mences and the slack season of the winter_months may now said to be over. Salmon fishing will commence about March 15. The Canadian Fish and Cold Storage Company expect to bring in 150 tons more herring for bait pur- poses. LOCAL UNION WAGE SCALE IN ERECTION MORSE CREEK BRIDGE A dvioaniton bpete the Central Labor Council, consisting of Fred. Shaw and George Rudderham, met the City Council last night with the request that in soliciting ten- ders for the erection of the Sec- tion 2 bridge the council embody in the call for, tenders a clause previding for the payment of the local union rates of wages to workers. On motion of Alder- man Dybhavn, seconded by Alder- n Rochester, the matter was referred to the Board of Works who have the matter in hand for their consideration. A letter sup- porting this petition was also read from the Trades and Labor Council, George that labor ooking for time, no labor culting Rudderham explained in the city was not trouble but, at the they would stand for skinners coming in and wages. It was for this that the deputation ap- peaned before the council so that there could be no trouble arise: Fred. Shaw substantiated what was said by Mr. Rudderham. Alderman Wilson Murray felt that the point was well taken and that besides protecting local labor it would protect the local contractors from lower wages prevailing on the outside where tenders might arise.
