At best, their task is no sinecure, but when at the end of each block they are forced by exerting their strength to lower their baby car- riages down to the street and up again at the next block it be- comes a tax far beyond the strength of many of these moth- ers, who to my mind are entitled to more consideration than they receive. Must Be Bachelors. Is it that our City Fathers are all bachelors, or if married, are not blest with the possession of a baby, that they are so oblivious to the comfort of so many moth- ers that possess both babies and carriages? Surely it would not cost much to have constructed a small incline at the end of each block, so as to enable these moth- ers to wheel their babies with- undue labor. One of Best Assets.
