Sir:—As Creek, I fully Morrissey’s letter of protest, regard- ing the proposed turnk sewer, which is to empty into Hays Creek above the bridge. The residents in this locality feel most strongly on the subject as a serious menace to health—not to mention the nuisance it will cause during the summer months, when the tides are small, and the creek law. When we think of the unpleasant odor caused in the summer by a few dying salmon, we may have a little idea of what to expect from the sewer in question, if carried out according to present plans. We have had a healthy city so far, and it is to be hoped this record will not be imperilled by the carrying out of a plan which, though now it appears to affect only a few scattered residents, may in the end be a set-back to the whole com munity. Why! such a state of af- fairs would not be tolerated in an Indian village If Hays Creek had been in the centre of the city, Would the plan as it now stands have been conducive to the health of the city? We very much doubt it. Then why should it be idered sanitary here? It is not certain when the G. T. P.| Ry.’s drydock will be completed—it | may be years, and surely in the meantime something can be ar- ranged whereby a temporary exten- sion made carry the eineien | to deep water Yours truly, W. E. Mr. Harry B. Cleveland as the German student showed amusing skill with the Ger- man-English accent, and Elton Rals- ton was good as “Don Stone,’’ the hero. There was abundance of good funny work, and the churus excelled themselves in song and dance. One of the most effective songs with churus yet put on in Prince Ru- pert by this popular company was “In Germany,’ sung by Mr. Cleve- land and chorus in quaint costumes of the Fatherland, The dance parts of this number were exceptionally well rendered. Tonight the company will put on a real “‘Darky Minstrel Show” under direction of Mr. Cleve- land, and one of the funniest shows every staged in Prince Rupert.
