FISHING STORY AT WESTHOLME TONIGHT One of the oldest, most famous and most picturesque of seaport towns, Gloucester, Mass., was chosen by Nazimova and Albert Capellani, her director, as the place best fitted for many of the scenes in “Out of the Fog,’ the latest Nazimova production in Which this noted star was seen last night at the Westholme. This old fishing town—the home of the famous clipper ships, once the pride and glory of Yankee captains—-has been sung in song and story and is-the place where Kipling wrote his greatest adven- ture of the sea, “Captains Cour- ageous,” and where he made his home while he lived in America. It is a town filled with the ro- ,|mances and traditions of the sea and retains the customs and man- ners of over a century of seafar ing people. These manners and customs have crept into the pic- tures taken here and make “Out of the Fog,” a Vivid piece of real- ism—a real story of real fisher- ‘folk. This picture will be shown here again tonight. FELL OFF SIDEWALK, At last night’s council meeting the application of Mrs. A. G. Crate of Seal Cove for 850 to cover a doctor's bill when her little boy fell over a high sidewalk without a railing on Alfred Street and broke his arm, was received and referred to the Board of Works and the city solicitor for report. It appears that this is the second accident the lad has had in falling over sidewalks. In the event of a regulation which might force us to discontinue oul bus service, what preparation is the road department making in case of-fire? As surely in the circumstances the present fire trucks will be unsafe on ‘such roads. Also what conveniences do they intend to adopt for the public? it has been our endeavor in the past to give the public a means of transportation so much needed especially to the residential and those whose business*and work take them in the vicinity of Seal Cove, and which we believe has been greatly appreciated by thi public, particularly during the bad spells of weather. We would like to point out this fact, outside of the business proposition on our part, that a means of transportation, especial- ly to a growing City, is an asset of consideration, but, it seems, the object of the present adminis- tration of the city is to hinder progress by making it difficult for those who ape helping along in that direction.
