Coast VICTORIA The operational duties of II.M.C.S. Uganda will be taken over early In August by HA1.C.S. Ontario which has Just completed an extensive refit. The Uganda will remain at Esqulmalt as part of the Royal Canadian Navy's relit. Charities of the west coast and the R.C.N. Benevolent trust fund will enjoy substantial benefits from the distribution of the ship's fund of H.M.C.S. Uganda. It is customary when a vessel goes out of commission for the canteen fund to be wound up. Final distribution Is to Include $1,000 to the Canter Fund, $1,000 to the Queen Alexandra Solarium, $1,000 to the Victoria Orphanage, $500 to the Victoria Boy Scout Association and $500 each to the Salvation Army and Red Cross. The various events, were well contested and provided plenty of excite ment, and entertainment for both spectators and contestants.
