Her commander, Captain Lennox Boswell, D.S.O., Is a veteran o! 33 years In the navy. Here is an official biography of the ship which is of the same class as the Canadian cruiser, H.M.C.S. Uganda. Kenya was commissioned In August, 1940, and started war service almost lmmediatsly, escorting merchant convoys from the United 'Kingdom to Sierra Leone, at this time the scene of many sinkings by enemy submar ines.
