The monthly meeting ot the council last night named a committee to arrange for financing the pamphlet which has been designed by Bjorn Selvlg, local artist, and will be the most ambitious effort of its kind ever attempted In Prince Rupert. The meeting adopted a recommendation by the executive that 15,000 of the pamphlets be published for wide distribution and Council Chairman H. M. Daggett appointed a committee consist-ing of Miss Honora Sllversides, Arnold Flaten, Rudolph Olsen and Al Manson to raise money. A paid canvasser may be employed to contact prospective sponsors. Also, It was moved that the committee take up the matter of financial assistance with the provincial government travel bureau, Indicating how far the project has already progressed. In answer to a letter sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation urging that the Sat urday night hockey broadcasts be released through station letter from H. W. Paulson, CBC CFPR, the council received a commercial representative. Victoria, Informing them that efforts "were being made to do so, but that difficulties had presented themselves and had not yet been overcome. The council received a donation of $50 from the Savoy Ho-tel, part of the pledged contribution which had been made by local firms to finance the operations of the organization. Cheeseman, guest speaker at the regular dinner meeting of th Kinsmen Club held Wednesday night In the Civic Centre. As an educator, the speaker felt he and the Kinsmen had at least one thing in commonInterest In the welfare of the youth of the community. He expressed his appreciation of the way the club carried out their programs that effected the schools and had one criticism, Rivalry was keen between the schools during some of the selling campaigns that Ill-feel-lngs sometimes developed. For the Kinsmen's efforts In arranging the children's program on May 24, the speaker had high praise and was equally Impressed with other club Projects, particularly the Kiddles' Kamp. He said he had met many of the Kinsmen as Individuals but until now he had not been aware that Prince Rupert had such an energetic group working for the welfare of the community Another Interesting feature of last night's meeting was a showing of colored films by B. F Eyolfson who with pictures and, the occasional comment gave the audience an Inside look at the life of a fisherman. The beauty of sunrises and sunset?, the fury of storm-lashed Hecate Straits, landing of salmon, unusual features of the Queen Charlotte Islands were depicted in natural color. Mr. Eyolfson's most valued sequence is that of fur seal attempting to steal 't salmon from the fisherman's line. W. F. Manning's address on his txparlences Hn the Yukon held the interest of all and tha club members hope they will hear more from their fellow Kinsman in the future. ' jl'rince George Kinsman Visitor Ronald Barber, charter mem-Iber of the Prince George Klns-imen Club, was a guest at last night's meeting and brought greetings of that club. The next big project of the Prince George Kinsmen will be a dog derby, he said, and life magazine has In- ! dicated a deelrc to have a photo j grapher on the Job when the j event Is held In February. J Among the guests of the club I were T. O., Bateman, Joseph jGoscoe, S. A. Cheeseman and J Father Carrol, representing four of the cityschools. President R. O.
