Coast Steamships Resumes Lease of Government Dock Trollers Still Out In Queen Charlotte Islands Area British Columbia Coast Steamship Service of the Canadian Pacific Railway is to resume its lease of the government wharf here which was interrupted in the early days of the war when the dock was taken over from the provincial government for the use of the Navy. The C.P.R., according to information ob tained on good authority, will be taking over again as from December 1 after which date the company's ships will again berth there instead of the Cana-djan National wharf which they have been using for several years. (250) MISSIONARY TELLS OF AFRICAN WORK Life of a missionary In In terior Africa may be exotic, but it is also a highly sacrificial one, removed from the conveniences, and often the necessities of the western world, according to Miss Flora Dixon, of the Sudan Interior Mission, who is lecturing in the city this week. Miss Dixon spent five years in Nigeria, Ethiopia and the Sudan as a member of the combined mission which Is ministering to a vast population, predominantly Mohammedan. She clans to return to Africa at thp end of the year. Her lectures, which have been given to various church groups in the city, are illustrated with lantern slides of the regions a quantity of wood stave pipe for the local branch of the Department of Indian Affairs. BISHOP RETURNS FROM NORTH TRIP The Rt. Rev. J. B. Gibson, D. D., Bishop of Caledonia, returned to the city Thursday night after an absence of three months. While awdy he visited the diocese of Yukon, holding confirmations and visiting outlying missions. While at Dawson he was guest speaker at a dinner given by the citizens of that famous northern city. Before proceeding down the Alaska Highway by bus he flew to Atlin, B.C., the most northern mission of his own diocese It took three days to travel the Alaska Highway to Fort St. John. The road was good and the scenery in places not to be forgotten. Confirmations and services were held throughout the Peace River Block during August. In September the Bishop attended the House of Bishops and the Electoral College which met in Saskatoon for the purpose of i nominating and electing a Primate of the Church of England in Canada. From there he returned to Kitwanga and Kit-wancool. October saw him at Burns Lake, Endako and Fraser Lake for Harvest Thanksgiving services at which he was the special preacher. He then travelled west as far as Smithers to attend a meeting of the Hazel-ton Deanery of which the Rev. J. M. McCormick of Vanderhoof, rural dean, was chairman. rPRfNcFRUPERT !
