For Young Folk Friday night was the quiet? est Halloween that Terrace has known for years and there have been no reports of damage from anyone In town. The children were out early gathering up their shell-out tickets and soon the Civic Centre began to fill up with the kiddies and their parents in readiness for the Kinsmen's Halloween masquerade party. The Kinsmen had gone to a lot of expense and time to give the children a happy time. The apple eating contest provided plenty of fun and the pie eating ' contest was the event of the evening, drawing a large crowd of 'cheering, laughing spectators. Coke, candy and apples were distributed to the children and there was a large bonfire outside with a grand display af fireworks. Although it was raining the spirits of the youngsters were not dampened and they all be haved remarkably well. The prizes were presented by Kinsmen President Jack McLeod and there was a good gift for eyery child there.
