This assembly gave the Junior-Senior High schools their first opportunity of meeting together this term. With Alan Hurst, the principal, presiding, the meeting opened with the singing of "O, Canatla." After the students' attendance was checked, the pupils were seated" according to their respective Houses, namely, Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta. Mr. Hurst then Introduced Vlce-Prlnclpal Cleland, who explained the system of point awards which -would be given each House for . students' participation in sports as well as for other ac tivities such as for alademld at talnments, participation In student activities, citizenship, and for punctuality and regular school attendance. Arthur Olsen, president of the School Council, addressed the meeting, explaining in detail the functions of the Junior and Senior Councils as well as those of the main School Council. Mr. Hurst delivered an interesting and Instructive "sermon" in which he stressed the need for worthwhile student and adult alms in life.
