GENERAL MOTORS WINNERS AGAIN DEFEAT GORDON AND ANDERSON 16-13 IN LEAGUE FASTBALL In a free-hitting game in the Gity Fastball League last evening before a big crowd of fans the General Motors added another victory to their long run of successes by winning from Gordon and Anderson 16-13. Poor judgment by the ironmen in the last inning was taken full advantage of by the mechanics and a chance to tie or even wini ' the game was nullified; i Beth teams went scoreless lr the first inning. In the top of the second the Motormen began hitting on all six and, before they were stopped, ten batters had faced Moxley and five runs were in. Lamibie was walked, Morgan singled, Bcbby Smith doubled and Dominato was safe on Moxley's error and the bases were loaded. Then Moxley walked Antone. Ted Arney singled and four runs were In with none out. Paylikis and Wlndle were out and then Lindsay was walked and Antone came In. Lambie up for his second time In the inning, was out, Simundson to Dell. Gordon and Anderson went out In quick order. In the first of the third Mor- gan hit but the side was retired with Morgan Je,ft on third. In their half of the third the store- men came to life. Kerr singled, Duncan was safe on Antone's error, Simundson singled and Kerr scored. Three errors by different General Motors men let Duncan and Simundson score and now the storemen were only two behind. However, in the fourth Moxley ran Into more trouble. Ten 'Players faced him and, with four hits, including a three-bagger by Pavlikis, and assisted by three errors by the hardware men. General Motors scored five tuns. In the fifth they added three runs and three more In the sixth to make the score 1-3. The storemen staged a small come raack In the sixth when Moxley and Smith scored. Bcih teams went scoreless in the seventh although Dominato hit a double. In the eighth the Motormen failed to score and then Gordon and Anderson staged a major uprising in their half. Thirteen cf their players faced Dominato before the splurge was quelled and, by then, seven runs were in. Two doubles by Dell and Moxley contributed considerably to the success. With their margin reduced to four runs the Motormen had little to soare. Bob Smith got a .good double and went to third on Dominato's single after Lambie and Morgan were out but Moxley struck out Antone without any runs coming in. The stage was now set for a last ditch rally and Dominato helped by Issuing walks to Duncan and . Duncan tried to come heme and was an easy out and then Dell got caught in a hot box between firs: and second and was out a. weak ending to a great chance. Simundson scored but Moxley struck out and the game was over. Once again the Motormen had won through their hard hitting and their good work in the field although they counted more errors than usual, even Lindsay and Lambie missing chances. Bob Smith, with four out cf six, including two doubles, was the "b! stick." Dominato actually had a poorer record than Moxley. Both allowed seventeen hits. Dominato gave up five walks against Moxleys four and struck out three .against Mox- ley's five. Kerr with three hits in four times up, and Simundson, Kneale. and James, with two out of fiv?. were the leading batters for the storemen. GEN. MOT AB.. 'RH O A G. M.
