local

Christmas

fleece-lined

made
by
mother
on
Tuesday
evenings

she
pursued
her
hobby

leather
punch

stitching

growing
pains

ladies

moccasin
leather,
a
wool
"shearling"
for
lining
the
moccasins
in
natural
and
green,
a
cowhide
covering

all
colors
and
a
bright
plastic
thong
material
for
stitching.

set
course.

makes
what
they

their

need
most,
children's
leather

warm

themselves

their

very
practical

When
the
group
resumes
after
the
Christmas
holidays,
it
will
continue
making
gloves,
moccasins
and
mitts
but
by
February
it
is
expected
that
some
will
start
making
pocketbooks
and
purses.
The
sessions
will
begin
again'
on
January
6
and
at
that
time.!
Mrs.
Harvey
says,
the
group
will

to

will

travelling
art
exhibit
from

Department
and
the
Vancouver
Art
Gallery
has
assured
us
that
a
travelling
art
exhibit
will
be
sent
to
us
to
augment
our
local
talent,"
Mrs.
Harvey
said.
"The
exhibit
may
be
the
one
sent
from
the
New
York
Museum
of
Art
entitled
"What
Is
Modern
Art?"
Prizes
this
year
will
Include
tools
and
cash
for
Junior
hobby
"xhlbits
and
cash
and
beads
for
Indian
exhibits.
But
the
ladies
of
the
Leather-craft
group
haven't
their
oyes
particularly
set
on
winning
orlzes.
They
pursue
their
hobby
