The shrewd prince, now 61, is among the wealthiest men but shuns rich living. When the British ruled 300,000,000 Indians, they never fully understood him. The statesmen of the dominions of Pakistan and India are no better off. His own people understand him. He is boss. By virtue of old and friendly association. British officials watched with interest when negotiations between India and Hyderabad were opened recently. The negotiations have ended with nothing decided. This is in line with the Nizam's' policy of waitrand-see. He has said cheerfully; that his state has affinities and common interests with both'JIndla and Pakistan and he does.'not want to take sides. Wlille massacres and furies have-swept the Punjab and elsewhere, the Nizam has kept or der in his own state and the dread communal war between Hindu and Moslems has, in Hyderabad, been represented only by a !few demonstrations and some "nervousness. Hyderabad is a strange combination of a Hindu majority and Moslem rule, superficially a BOND toy Eddie Allen, popular accordionist who is hoard through Friday, by many "Versatility really counts when you're u ratlin artist. (1150) Fashion Show Charming Women's Dreams Visualized In Shimmering: Furs and Dresses Women's dreams were caught in the shimmering folds of soft and supple furs worn over a colorful cadence of costumes by models, both glamorous and gracious, at tne rur fashion show produced in the Civic Centre last night by Fowlie and Ruttle, furriers, and Annette Mansell, ladies' ready-to-wear. Elegant silver fox and Persian lamb, as well as cosy and practical mouton embodied the latest style trends in their extravagant use of fabric. Calfskin, a smooth and sleek short fur, shown for the first time here in loose and cutaway jackets is already a pet fabric in the .States and will likely travel far in sports and casual circles. Suits and dresses worn under the furs displayed a fineness of fabric and finesse in fashioning. Sequins, beads and nail-head trims sparkled and flashed from heads to toes.
