Gifts Where Needed more a Christmas season, which has every ONCE prospect of being merry for the most of us, is approaching. We Canadians can look forward with happy contemplation to the joys and the pleasures of the occasion of "peace and goodwill." ; We would do well to stop and think" that the most of the world is not as fortunate as we. In fact, we are the small minority that shall have joys and gifts in abundance. - There are movements and organizations yes, Here in Prince Rupert, too which may be the media for us to do even just a little to lighten the lot fif people in other parts of the world who still have little to look forward to in the way of Christmas joy. Our sustained contributions thereto would be well justified. I If we would be truly Christmas-like in spirit, we would make provision in the gifts which we lavish this Christmas to see that at least some of our-blessings reach peoples whose need and appreciation would be manifoldly greater than those whom we would normally think about and reach. TIME TO GET BUSY some signs of life during the customary SHOWING between-election somnolence, the Prince Rupert Liberal Association, at its annual meeting last week, decided that it should bestir itself by at least launching a publicity campaign. It remains to be seen if it is to be just another annual meeting resolution, whether it will have the usual follow-up of Such resolutions which usually seems to be just nothing. The old line parties should by this time be aware hat the political activity in season and out, the campaign which starts the day after one election and is carried on throughout the years intervening until the next, is a large factor in the successes that Che Socialist party, for instance, may have. If the Liberal party were equally as active, it too could be Successful. In fact, it will have to develop and sus-'tain activity and enthusiasm now so lacking, if it js to regain lost ground. AW. For that I am truly sorry and admit that I was completely out of order in my procedure although I still affirm interdiction proceedings as taken against the four Inmates was too severe a penalty to be imposed for life as the old people are only there awaiting death, the great emancipator of both poverty and wealth. "Now, Mr. and Mrs. Montchall, I stand second to none In grateful recognition of the faithful service you render at. the home in the discharge of your duty but now, as the season of the year approaches of Peace on Earth and Goodwill to Men, in the name of One who gave hlsi life that all might be released from their sins, I think it would be a fitting gesture in honor of that great approaching season of joy for Mr. Montchal, super intendent, and the board of-gov-ernors to have the interdiction of those four old men removed so they be restored to their full ! rights as citizens.
