Tuesday-Gilhuly cup football, Cullies vs. Sons of Canada. Friday Gilhuly Cup football, Sons of England. vs. f.reat War Veterans. Trap shooting at Park Avenue range. City. League lsisehall practices every open night at Acropolis Hill 'ground. . After a. week with no games on "account of the trip of star players lo Ocean Falls, local roolhallers will take the field again this week in the Oilhuly Cup semi-final replays. Through the fact that the first two elimination games resulted in draws, a very keen interest has now- been developed in the competi tion and large crowds of spectators "afre expected. The meet ing tomorrow evening between the Sons of Canada and Callii s should be unusually attractive. i The promoters of the return wrestling match tonight between Nels Jepson of' Edmonton and Jack- Burns of Spokane expect that the attendance will be larger on this occasion than it was for the first match. The fact that the first meeting of the two men was a real exhibition at the match game combined with Ihe fact that, through their slay in the city, the two principals have become pretty well ac quainted should ensure a good gathering of spectators. Jepson is confident that he will be able to recover the honors he lost lo Burns and there are many who Deneve ne win pe aide to do so On the other hand, there appear to bo just as many' who lliink Burns will win again. In addi tion to the main bout, there is to be a good card of preliminaries CALGARY DEFEATED CORINTHIANS SOCCER CALGARY', Aug. 18. MACDONALD'S Elite Cut FOOTBALL ENNIS SWIMMING YACHT CLUB HAD BIG DAY Picnic Proved Great Event In History of That Institution Yesterday was a great day for Ihe members of the Princo Rupert Rowing and Yacht Club which held its first picnic on I'ugwell Island, the members and their friends to the number of several hundred gathering there for'an informal event that proved very enjoyable. The morning was lowering and shortly before eight o'clock a little rain fell so that the start was somewhat delayed. How ever, about half past eleven they were all mustered by President R. II. Benson and Secretary Alex. McRae, the parado committee, and I hey set out in single file in the lirection of the island. It was a pioturesque sight, to watch the long line of fine little yachts with club and national colors flying as they -crossed Ihe harbor yesterday. Everybody was happy and two hours later when all sal down lo lunch at Tugwell beach I hey were happier yet. Much of the success of the day was line to the energetic efforts of the refreshments committee composed of Alex. Finnie, Jack Lindsay, Sid Hunter, L. S4yles and W. W. Wralhall, who looked after the general arrangements. I'he club provided hot water.cof- fec, lemonade, candy, nuts and oranges and everything went off without a hitch. Particular credit is due to Jack Lindsay for his excellent work injronncction with this event. The return took place soon af ter' supper. There were banks of fog in the offing and everyone feared that it might .shut down nnd envelop them before they got this side of the harbor. As a matter of fact a few of the later boats did experience a little delay in getting home owing to the thickness of the atmosphere. The sports comnitlee under Jack Keep) aided toy 'jV. Reid, Aiex. ;iac(ionaid ami J. Lindsay did not have a very easy job. The water was rather cold for swimming so the events were not pulled off.
