ESCAPED FROM CERTAIN DEATH Matthew Shepherd Who Was Burled Yesterday had Marvellous Experience In ,1776 The funeral took place here yesterday of Matthew Shepherd, an Indian who died at the Prince Itupert cannery on Friday last He was n councillor of the fiispa Wilwiddah tribe over which Chief f.egaic presides. Ninety years ot age at the time of bis death he had survived six Legates. Also he had had numerous adventures, being one of the early converts lo Christianity of the late Arch deacon Collison.
