Geddes of Calgary, acconipanicil hy Val K. Fynn of St. Louis, it is interesting to note that they made their first ascent on July 12 and finding passage loo ilifficull they decided to return and attempt the southeast side, which route had been , unsuccessfully attempted in 1922 by Mr. Wjales and Dr. Uulyea of Kd monlon. In that year Wales and Uulyea got within 300 feet of the summit 'When they were compelled to turn back. On July 1 1 Wales, Geddes and Fynn left camp at 2.30 in the morning and climbed a sleep snow gully'and up rock chimneys and cracks, one of which led the climbers into the heart of the mountain, finally emerging like a tunnel on the ,norlh face with a drop of over 3,000 feet lo the I'onquin Valley below.
