DAILY EDITION Tuesday, Sept. 9, 192 1. Canada Looms Large At Empire Exhibition. Cairada looms large at the British Empire Exhibition. This country is large, so large that it will take many years to fill it. It is also important and the more people we have the more important we shall become. t Every big exhibition of recent years has seen the Canadian pavilion one of the centres of attraction. There is always something novel jn it and this year is no exception to the general rule. Visit Canada Instead Of European Countries. What is needed just now is to so turn the eyes of the wealthy Britishers to Canada that they may be induced to come here for their holidays instead of going to Switzerland or Italy or France. It js a little farther away but not much and it has the added attraction of a, sea voyage on palatial liners. . People visit the Swiss mountains but we have mountains that are finer than anything in Europe. People visit Norway to view fjords, yet right here in Northern B.C. the fjords are among the finest in the world. For diversity of scenery Canada excels and once the British people get the habit they will come here by the thousands. Many come now but not enough. There are a few people whoj because they see unemploy ment in one or two cities, would ston everyone coming to Can ada. That is foolish. The tendency of the day is for people to flock u the cities and then when they get there and find they cannot obtain work they howl about conditions. What is needed is more people in the country lo make farms and lo produce FRESH MILK -FED BROILERS. Visit the Chicken Booth at the EXHIBITION Burns' Pur Pork Sausage Given Away Every NlghL Take a Selected Broiler Home to the-' Missus. LOTS OF FUN. THOSE who scolT at the practice of faith should nerer touch hash at a .boarding house or res I au ran I. : EVERY man would like lo he rich and many expect to tie rich hut very few ever will be rich, judging by the way they live. EXHIBITION week stalled with a souse. It is to bo hoped it ends with a roast. HER Majesty Queen Grace will make her dubut tomorrow. Long live tthe Queen. - ANYONE hinging "It ain't (onna Rain No More" aftei this is going to be banged, drawn and quartered and then made into mincemeat. WHAT make's people, fat in Prince Rupert is three square meals followed by late supper and perhaps a little; afternoon tea now and then. 4.- - .. IT'S a hard world. Just as you pel five dollars ahead of the Fame somebody dies or is mar ried or a visitor comes and there you are, THERE'S one thing about this fair, its the last we shall have until the year 1925. In the mean time there will be a close season for fairs and times will be dull. ANYONE liking a swung should go to the prairies. The harvest is in full swing there. CIGARETTES WIN GERMANS food. There is. plenty of market for the output. In Canada thereimtan population . r f 1 . . 1 1 1 1 1 ' ... 1 e I is room iur nve nines me present population wiihoui ieeiiug the least crowded. Why slop people coming, then? Most of the people who are asking that others be stopped are among those who came here themselves a few years ago in order to better their own condition. Fair Promises To Be The Best Yet. While at the time of writing it is difficult to say just how the fair this year will compare with previous years, it seems certain that it will be the best in the history of the city. The demand for space was greater than ever before and the building both inside and out is far better decorated than it has been in the pasL There has been a renewal of interest in & good many departments and individual citizens have taken more interest in the event. The Daily News commends the fair lo the citizens of Prince Rupert as something not to be overlooked. It is well worthy of a visit and lo see it best the afternoon is the time when fewer people are around than in the evening. It is suggested that the week be kept by aliens as Fair Week and that no other ' engagements be allowed to interfere with a daily visit to Acropolis Hill. THREE FIRES DURING .
