LIBRARY USED Interest Much Greater Than Last Year With Notable Increase In Books Borrowed There has been a notable in crease In the number of bonks loaned by the public library this fall over last year. At the meeting of the Library Hoard held last night the librarian reported lhal 3112 books had been issued luring the month of November or 1 daily average of 12D.5. This compares favorably with last year when 2,453 books were Is sued or a daily average of 98. In all there are 1703 member ship cards out, 49 of which were issued new during November while only three were cancelled during the same lime. Ten books w-re received by gift and six by purchase while two were discarded. There are now 1,148 books on the shelves. One of Ihe members of tha Hoard said he had heard suggestions on Ihe outside that a History of Scotland should be added to tho collection. It was thought by one ''member that possibly if Ihe need were known someone would donate a book on that subject.
