Again Meets Police Commls sloners A A delegation from ilie laxi Irivcrs, consisting of E. Large and T. Dyhhavn was present al Ilie police commission yesterday when consideration was given to the drafting of a parking bylaw. At a previous meeting; of the commission Solicitor Jones had been instructed to prepare the draft of a liylaw, anil the same was submitted to the commission yesterday. Commissioner Coombs and Mayor Newton were of the opinion that Sixth Street should be closed to parking, whereas Commissioner Montgomery was in favor of restricting parking on this street to the north side. The matter was discussed at considerable length, and the side of the laxi drivers was presented to the board by the delegation present. In the end it was de cided to recommend that no parking be done on Sixth Street, and that this be included in the draft by law which the commis sion would ask the city council to pass. utlier matters pertaining to the regulation of traffic were brought up for discussion by the board, and it. LETTER OBJECTING TO UKRAINIAN PEOPLE COMING TO CANADA Trail Police Commission Says They Are Communists and Members of Red Army The Trail Police Commission had a letter before the local police commission yesterday asking that they support a reso lution which Trail Commission bad passed to the effect lhat Dominion government do not en courage or assist 10,000 Ukrain ians to come into this country as immigrants. In the preamble- of the rcsolu lion it was staled that these im migrants would not remain on the farm ami that there were many of this class in the vicin ity of Trail at Ihe present time and they nearly all belonged to (he Communist party or wer members of the Ukrainian Red Army. The commission did not dis cuss the matter very long and it was s-oon decided to take no pail in the matter.
