Early in the morning the members of the local lodge were busy in making preparations for the day and soon a "large number of boats were busy carrying picnickers iicross the harbor. Several of the boats made three or four trips to accommodate those who wished to go and, when evening came, it was found that there were about a thousand to bp transported home. Uy this timer several 'boats had been added to the fleet and Utile dilhdulty was found in carrying out this part of Ihe; program with despatch. There bad been arranged a long and varied list of sports which were run off quickly, per haps, the most interesting item in the whole program was lh tug of war between members of Ihe Moose and men employed at Hie elevator. This was a hard and long drawn out batlle. Afler one rope had broken twice and a new one procured, a long tedious pull for thirty minutes, that 1hq members of the Moose were de clared Ihe winners. P. BASEBALL GAME WASPLENDID of Canada Beat Sawmill Girls 12 and under t. Mar-. ' Yesterday by Score of Two , to One The best of several good league baseball games that have been played hp far this season, was that yesterday afternoon between the Sawmill and Sons of Canada in which the latter were victorious by a s"core of 2 to 1. It was a pitchers battle, both Lidstone and Schenkler being in fine form. Fielding errors only were responsive for the runs that were Vhade ami, if the fields had given the, linrlers the support that they' deserved, the game might have been going yet. The Sons having scored one in Ihe first innliYg and the Sawmill one in Ihe fifth, the score was lied at Ihe end of the seventh ami in the extra efcrhlh. Ihe Ciniirks got the winning tally across the home plate; Lidstone had 14 strike-out Id his credit but his team made seven errors. Schlen- ker turned in ten strike-outs for the Sons of Canada' while the team made ifour errors. Each side made four hits. There was a very fair crowd of spectator?.
