Canadian Pmi Correepon-drnttr-No doubt exists about the tem per of a large abare of members of Congress from the Corn Belt. When they come to Washington after the November election, some of them doubtless stinging from defeat 'tor another term. It may be expected that tb:y will not only be, insistent on the McNary-Haugen bUl or similar farm relief legislation but that they will be hostile toward continuation of the present high tariff duties. The winter session of Congress apparently will be marked by strenuous efforts to get farm relief legislation along the lines of the McNary-Haugen bill. These efforts will be marked in all likelihood with display of considerable bitter feeling on the part of Corn Belt members toward eastern members who oppose the legislation. It Is not ex pected legislation wUl be enacted In the short session In flew of the controversy. TAR I IT REVISION While there Is no Indication of tariff revision in the near future. It is be coming more and more plain that many of the Republicans in the Corn Belt are turning away from the traditional Republican attitude on the tariff.
