The primary purpose of the Duke's visit la to officially open the new Australian common wealth capital at Canberra. On January 6, they will leave Ports-mouth and sail via Las Palmas to Jamaica, where they will arrive on January 20. They will stay three days In Jamaica, after which they will pro ceed via the Panama Canal to Suva, arriving there on Feurbary 17. They will stay two days in FIJI and will then proceed to Auckland, where they will arrive on February 23. After spending two days In Auckland they will visit various parts of the North Island of New Zealand. Including Rotorua, and will reach Wellington on March 5. They wUl remain there for three days. Then they will tour the South Island, visiting the West Coast. Chrlctchurch, Dunedln and Invercaryill. and will sail for Australia on March 22. On March 28, the Duke and Duchess will arrive at Sydney and will spend II days In the State of New South Walea. alter which a visit of eight djys will be paid to Brisbane and the various parts of Queensland. This will be followed by a five days' stay In Tasmania, and on April 21 they will arrive In Melbourne, where they will stay until after Anzac Day.
