From time to time Aurmurtngs of that sort have been heard In Canada, and now and then open criticism- of the system has been expressed. This has been because verdicts hsve been given by juries that were manifestly out of Joint, and tt has sometimes been Impossible to avoid a feeling that a Judge or a full bench of Judges would hsve given a fairer decision. The same tendency is evident across the itne. and at the present time It is Uk'.ne shape.
