H. P. PULLEN, Managing Editor. Member of Audit Bureau of Circulations. DAtLT EMTIO Thursday. May 13, 1926. A Hearty Welcome To Our Visitors. The Ilnily News joins with the rest of Prince Rupert in wishing the visitors, to the city today a hearty welcome. We are a young town hut our people have plenty of aspirations and some ideals. They look to see a great city here, if they live long enough. Many of the 'visitors are 'taking their first look at Prince Rupert. We suggest that they look herver well, because even a year from now there will he change. Next, fall we expect to be shipping large quantities of grain from the focal elevator. The Wheal Pool has taken a lease on it and will have possession on August 1. From that time on there should be something doing here winter and summer. In the past it has been. the dull winter season that ale into our summer's bitsiifess. Forget Dull Care, Let Us Enjoy Life.' The molto of the Shriners, whatever iV is, seems to be "Forget dull care and let us enjoy life." We hope they will do that here. "We will help them .ill we can in doing it and so win oiner people oi ine my. we like tne care-iree way in which they go about the business of enjoymeiiL They dispense good theer lu a lavish manner by their cheery disposition. Possibly the Shriners in their mystic sessions are very wicked people. We do not know because all that 'is secret, but we juq know that, in public, when, on the streets or iu olhe.r public places when under the eyes of the populace, they make Mvecl music, they contribute to the gaiety of, the crowd and are therefore public benefactors. We wish them well in their wickedness, even if LJiey are Turks. God bless them! . Two Surprises In Britain Recently. There were two surprising things about the strike which happily ended yesterday. Ones surprise was the solidarity of the strikers. -who stuck together well and nxade a decided impression on the nation. The other was the manner m. which the riien of Great Britain rallied to the service of the country on the opposite side, either as special police or to operate the public utilities of the country. According to the despatches there were always more volunteers than were needed. me people oi me conn try were oiviueu into two camps. earn suekltig tip for what it considered-right.
