More than (18.000 worth of silver. black foxes passed through Montreal a few days ago. 26 foxes altogether, a pair In each of the 13 crates. They IUIC JU3k WVUiUC.m MiC III.. IIW1 W their long trip which Is taking them from Merrltt, B.C., to Grenoble, Prance. Each of the 26 foxes Is of pedigreed Prince Edward Island stock. The foxes are being shipped by the allies Bros., from the Merltt Ranch, of Merrltt, B.C. to Barillon and Poulln of Grenoble, Prance, and will be used by the latter as the nucleus for a fox farm which they are starting In that district. ' The Canadian Pacific Express pany is handling the consignment, which left Montreal for St. John. N.B.. where they were shipped aboard th Canadian Pacific liner Mellta. C. II. W. Albrecht, who came to Canada about a year ago from France ' to study fox farming In this country, is accompanying the Canadian foxes to their new home in France. Mr. Albrecht will stay In Frtnce until the Grenoble ranch on the slopes of the Alps in southeastern France has been established. He expects to return to the Dominion next year. Already the fox farming industry Is making good headway in France, Mr. Albrecht told the Family Herald. Th neucleus for practically all these farms has been from Prince Edward Island, but as far as he konws. this is the first shipment of foxes from British Columbia to France for the purpose. lakelse springs Attract tourists in great numbers J. Bruce Johnstone has returned to tte city after speeding the summer at Lakelse Hot Springs on the ttne of the ptriadiaq National Itattway. east of Prince Rupert. These springs are coming Into notice with the increase in the traffic along the line and the steady multiplying of the number of tourists t sting advantage of that route through the central pan of the province. Located just off the line of the C-NiL. the Lakelse Springs are reputed to be the largest and the water of the highest temperature of any springs in Canada TAey come forth at a temperature of 168 degrees Fahrenheit and the spring measures 100 feet across. In addition to Ute springs, there la re the Tidntty excellent fly fishing in the Lakelse River and Lakelse lake. A good road now connects the lake with Terrace, which Is the aratten on the railway where travellers leave for the lake. AX ATTRACTION' The sprtngs have long had a very strong attraction for residents of the district .in and about Prince Rupert. Mr. Johnstone has an hotel with accommodation for about eighteen guests. but tt is anticipated that with the Increase In the traffic over the railway line and the advertising of the attractions of this spot, there will have to be enlargement of the accommodation before very long. The water of Vie springs has a reputation for curative properties, especially for rheumatism, and many have taken advantage of them In the search for health. They are so situated that It1 Is possible to bring the water Trom the springs by gravity into the hotel, which la great advantage.
