An excellent banquet had been provided and with an excellent program of music and speecbet the evening wa one of great pleasure and enjoyment. James. Xrrine. president of St. Andrew's Society, Under whose' auspices ths event was held, presided and proposed the toast to The Klngi which was fittingly honored and then Introduced the various Items on a rcther full program. Due to inner t some of the artists mere unable to attend as expected but there were oth. present to take their places and thtlr efforts were appreciated by tie gather ing. THE IMMORTAL MEMORY After the opening toast aa orchestra, composed of Will lam Vaugcan Davie and Jas. McKay, played several selections of Scottish Airs which was fallowed by J. C. Brady. M.P.. who honored the toast to "The Immortal Memory"" in a very appropriate address, dealing with 'the life and aorls of the distinguished poet and his contribution to the literature of the world. Miss Elisabeth McLeod appeared In the absence of her mother and .delighted the company with several numbers, having to respond to encores on Donald who also played the pipe In1 true Scottish style when the Haggis was brought In by Jas. Allan. Alderman W. M. Brown gave the address to The Haggis and J. L. Christie said the Selkirk Grace. The program of toasts was Interspersed with solos by Mits Catherine Jones. Mia Elizabeth McLeod. Mrs. C Prater. Mrs. J. Wsugh, and a duet by airs. H. C Praser and Mr. J. Waugh, all of whom were most favorably received. Jas. McKay rendered a violin solo very acceptably, and Miss E. M. Earle pleasingly responded to the toast. The Lasties." and made numerous sanies which were greeted with well deserved applause. The toast to Bonnie Scotland was honored by D.
