The annual gen. eral meeting cf the Omlneca Branch of the B.C. Chamber of Mines was held In Smlthers on Tuesday. In spite of the fact that the thermometer was standing ft 30 below rero outside, a fair attend ance was present and listened with great Interest to the annual reports, The president reviewed the work of the past year In, the many undertaking 01 me organization ana predicted that 1927 should toe a better year than any previous .ones for mining In this district. The secretary-treasurer presented his annual report and financial statement, showing a surplus of 6 on hand at the commencement of the year. A communication was road to the meeting from Alderman Frank E. Wood-side of Vancouver, president of the provincial organisation. He conveyed the greetings of the provincial body and complimented the local organization on the work done by It during the past ytr He also announced- that, for every member who pays his annual fee of $5.00 to the local branch during 1927. another 11.00 would be added from the general funds of the B.C. Chamber of Mines to supplement the local finances. The members of the branch were unani mous in expressing their gratitude for the hearty co-operation received throughout the year from the provln clal officers. The meeting passed a resolution of thanks to the president and secretary for efficient lajrk during their term of olflce and both were re-elected to their respective positions for the coming year. In recognition of his services, which have been rendered without remuneration, the secretary was voted an honorarium of 25. The full slate of officers elected for 1927 is as follows: Hon. Despite the unusually severe weather it was the' most largely attended vestry meeting ever held here. In making his report 'for the part of the year during which he was In charge of the work. Rev. T. J. Marsh also spoke of his retirement and sked that the same feeling of good will and fellowship which had been accorded to him be extended to his successor. Rev. A. W.
