Dr. King leaves for Peace River to inspect that wonderful productive empire of the West. In his good sense and excellent judgment he cannot fail to report to his government, when he returns to Ottawa, that announcement of a coast outlet for the Peace River district will attract thousands of American farmers into the West In view of Sir Henry Thornton's pledge of nearly two years ago and Hon. Dr. King's official report, the Federal Government cannot, In all good faith and common sense- delay that announce' ment much longer. Circulation of that announcement throughout United States, coupled with extensive and Intelligent advertising in America farm journals, will turn the eyes of hundreds of thousands of the best ypung, American farmers, in' the direction of Canada. It will -pour into Western Canada, over a period of one or two years, more than a million new population. All those people will not go into the Peace River district. But they will simmer over into vacant lands of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta bringing in machinery, equipment, and most valuable of all, experience. Peace River is the greatest immigration magnet in the history of any country. Provide that district with a coast outlet, then tell these young Americans, crowded off their old homesteads, what it Is, where it is and how to get there, and the Immigration problem of the We?t will be solved. Most people buy things just because their already have one. The most effective force in the world Is the most silent. See how silently the grass grows, the grain ripens and the potato bugs eat. NOT POLITICAL CRIME People should not forget that Sacco and Vanzetti were not convicted of committing a political crime. They were convicted of killing two werkingmen in cold blood for the purpose of robbery. A paymaster, a wage worker, and his guard, another wage worker, were taking money to pay the weekly wages due fellow workers. They were waylaid, murdered and the money stolen. .Sacco and Vanzetti were apprehended and convicted of the murder and robbery. v . . .. ;-. The circumstances that Sacco and Vanzetti were Italian nationals is also an incident. So was one of the men they murdered.
