Henry Darby, was fortunate indeed to escape with only bums around the face and hands as a result of a fire which broke out aboard the vessel about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon aa ahe was moored at the dry dock. Mr. Darby had perceived the odor as ol leaking gas and. lifting a plank over the bilge, b lit a match to Investi gate. Fire followed immediately aad soon tha boat waa a mass of llamas and dense smoke which lifted Into tbe air. Fortunately workmen at the dry dock were on hand and soon stream of water were playing from hoses into the boat.
